Feni

The alcoholic beverages produced by the fermentation process of the cashew apples grown in the parts of Goa. The Feni has been used for the last 450 years. Goa known for its biological diversity because of its fertile nature of soil, which is the influencing factor for the unique cashew apples grown. The process involves manual selection of cashew apples for fermentation and distillation by traditional methods without adding any additional ingredients. The medicinal properties of Feni are unique. The trade secrets of production are not shared beyond the community.
