Tezpur Litchi

The Tezpur Litchi varieties produced in Assam have a special size, shape, attractive colour, mouthwatering flavour and delicious taste. The shape of the fruits is ovoid /round and Tezpur Litchi is characterized by its pleasant flavour, juicy pulp with attractive colour and small seed with tight pulp. Its colour varies from dull brick red to pinkish brown or attractive red. The pulp is white to greyish white and the thickness of peel varies depending upon the variety. The juice sugar content is highly energy-giving and is a rich source of vitamin C. It contains fair amount of potassium, phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, iron and small amount of Vitamin B. Its principal chemical constituents are carbohydrates, organic acids, vitamins, pigments and a bit of fat.
