“Waghya Ghevada” also known as “Koregaon Rajma” or “King Rajma” is very popular in Maharashtra as well as in North India. It is a traditional local variety of Western Maharashtra which is mainly cultivated in north Koregaon Taluka of Satara district in Maharshtra. “Waghya Ghevada” beans are very tasty. They are sweeter than other varieties of Rajma. They are rich in proteins and carbohydrates and have a high nutritional value. They are a drought resistant variety and a potential agricultural crop of the region.
