The Arumbavur wood carvings are primarily made out of the wooden logs of Indian siris (Poo Vaagai, Albizia lebbeck), Mango (Mangifera indica), Lingam tree (Mavilangam), Indian Ash tree (Othiyan – Odina wodier), rose wood, Neem tree (Vembu – Azadirachta indica) are used for making sculptures.
