This valley falls under temperate Himalayan region and the cold climate prevalent is suitable for sheep and goat rearing. It also fulfils the necessity for woollens. Kullu shawls look the same from both its sides due to its weaving, designing and colour combination which is a unique feature of this shawl. Kullu shawls have geometrical designs on both ends and floral designs. Despite being expensive, these hand woven shawls are very popular because of its organic nature (handmade), beautiful, elegant design and warm woolen fabric. These shawls are available in a wide variety ranging from extremely fine to very coarse material.
