These grapes are supposed to be a hybrid between Vitisvinifera and V. labrusca. In these grapes berries are small sized, dark purple in colour, ovoid, seeded with thick skin with a blend of sourness and sweetness. Juice is purple coloured, clear and pleasantly flavoured. The particular taste with a blend of sour and sweet is characteristic of this variety.
