The magic touch of its tribal weavers has fetched it a prominent place in the Indian handloom industry. Nearly 100 tribal households are currently producing unique fabrics. Around 72 looms are used to produce such Aul dyed fabric with an annual turnover of Rs. 25 lakhs. Due to favourable climatic condition, Aul trees are abundant. They are not found anywhere else in India. These trees, nature&#8217;s gift to these tribal weavers, play a vital role in manufacturing this dyed fabric. Kotpad Handloom Fabric has its own significance, not found in any other part of the country, such as the the roof bark of the older Aul tree being used as a raw material for the dyes.
